I'm just curious as to what the average age of active forum members are.

Do you want to know the average of active ALA members in general or ALA members who are active on this forum??? There are active ALA members who never participate on this forum..I'm somewhat active with both (at least I have been).I hate to admit it, but I'm 51.

I admit to being 61 but am one of the older folks that are willing to go with new technologies. I know lots of people who can't even do an e-mail including several in my local club. The on-line population will be somewhat skewed toward the younger part of the group.

Was thinking average age of ALA in general, but I figured the average age of the forum members is a fairly decent average. I do realize it's skewed a little younger than if I just did the average age of members.

I think the ala missing something very important in what it takes to get newer young people. That is in the breeder award program. How many teen agers parents will allow them to have 10 tanks of fish to try and win an award. I believe the standard is so hi it leaves the young people and beginners out. I suffest an award for someone who has successfully bred under five species of fish. All you would have to do is add this award. gerard94114@yahoo.com

There aren't many kids (except for me) that would want to breed fish anyways.

Alex that is where you are wrong. Just because you don't know any doesn't mean there aren't any out there. I will be if you spoke with most of the adults in the ala they all were raising some kind of fish when they were tees or younger, and it was because someone took an interest in helping them get started. That is what happened to me. gerard94114@yahoo.com
