I was waiting to see if anyone else had anything to say before posting again.

I forgot to respond to your question about suggestions for getting a Platy/ Swordtail cross.

I've gotten this cross several times, but as I said it's usually not easy.
First I recommend using a Platy male and female Swordtail (A young/small female if possible)
Isolate both fish (by themselves for a while)
Place them in a small open tank at the same time.
**Sometimes I used 2 or 3 Platy males and 1 female Swordtail.

Remember: Just because you see a male making breeding attempts to a "different" type of female, doesn't mean a successful mating has occurred.
and if the mating was successful the fry could be sterile. But keep trying!

i bred it from blacktail lyratail X.Helleri. Already crosing with other lyratails, blood red red eye and Koi x.helleri.
