Hello All
I just recently received a large group of Peppered Paleatus Cories. They are the most amazing little things I've ever seen. I got them from a member in another forum he also has them on aquabid he goes by RedKahuna and he is a very cool guy. Here's a link to the auction. http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...shc&1243711087 I was wondering if I should rehome my starter colony of Red Cherry Shrimp. Can anyone tell me without a doubt if they would eat or harm shrimp fry.

almost every fish is oportunistic and will eat whatever is available when hungry.

that being said, I have various corydoras species in with cherry shrimp in several tanks and have never witnessed one eating any shrimp. They will eat baby brine shrimp so it is possible they might eat some of the baby cherry shrimp but I wouldn't be too worried about it unless you starve them. KYle

I would say the cories will not mess with the adult shrimp but they might eat the babies. Although they are mainly scavengers like snakeskinner said they can be opportunistic. You should play it on the safe side and keep them seperate or just add a few cories and a few shrimp in the same tank and see what happens. Whatever you do though I wouldnt put them all together, not just because of them possibly eating the shrimp fry but because the extra waste produced by the corries might have a negative effect on the shrimp. Shrimp prefer clean nitrate free water, or close to it, so it is usually best to keep them in a species only setup.

Hello Guys
Thanks for the fast replies. We'll see how it goes. I've already added them to my 90 gal.
