I love it when a thread is all over the place, it makes it more like a real discussion.

May I suggest, however, that a new thread be started for the book idea? I'm worried that some ideas and discussion may be lost if it's scattered. It will also give us a thread to direct the BOD to. Just a thought .

You are right, Darrell. Something like this would be available to members only, free. Also, if we tried to sell the book, we would run into the subject of copyright permissions. Each and every author or their estate would have to sign over ownership of the articles and pictures to ALA to be used for profit. That is unless the magazine stated in each issue that the articles and pictures became property of the ALA at the time of publication.

Yes, Melody, we should hold these discussions in another forum if we plan to pursue it further, but I think it is up to the leadership if we should continue to entertain the idea.
