Hello everyone!

I have a few questions when it comes to live aquarium plants. Everything I seem to find on google never really answers questions for a total newbie.

I tried keeping a few live plants many years back when I was brand new to aquariums, fish, etc. Naturally, the plants didn't do too well.

This is my current set up: 3 swords, 3 platys (both 2 female and 1 male), and 1 corycat. (As Thrifyfisher suggested, I plan on getting a few more corys.)

Anyways, what all is necessary to ensure any successful live plant additions to my tank? Any suggestions on what type of plants?

Any input is very much appreciated!!!

If your tank has a standard aquarium light, your best chance for success are low light plants like Java Fern, Anubias and most Cryptocoryne, such as Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Green’.

Good luck!
