We'd love to hear from those who are attending the ALA convention this weekend!  Please post updates and pictures if possible.  You can also post on our Facebook page.  If you want to go on a whim, the auction is open to the general public.

We can always use photo's for the Livebearers journal as well, especially fish pictures.  You can send them to our editor, Bill Allen, or directly to myself.  You're encouraged to share pictures in the forum photo gallery as well.

If the convention inspires your inner writer, Mr. Allen is always happy to receive articles from members.

Wishing everyone a fun & safe ALA Convention 2012!

I will be there Mel. I just came here tonight to find the location to program it into my Garmin. I will be leaving home about sun-up tomorrow morning to begin the trip. I am carrying my Nikon and would be delighted to supply Bill with pictures. I bet I can also throw something together for the Livebearer too. Maybe I can do a piece about the poster displays by the students. Last year it was very interesting with only 1 poster display but this year there are 7 to look at and study. The posters are far more than just posters, they are often the result of extensive research projects by those students. I always find their research intriguing and, as you might expect, it is leading edge information.

I would love to see pics and hear about the convention. I for one was really disappointed when I couldn't make it to the convention.

Mr. OM, I'm a big fan of the poster projects too, they do some very interesting, thorough research that is almost invariably of interest to your average breeder. An article and good pictures of the posters would be awesome for Livebearers. Thanks for your help and have fun!

The reports and pictures are coming in and it sounds like everyone is having a blast already!  One gracious field trip host, The Neighborhood Fish Farm, has blogged about the ALA visiting and included pictures.  Check out the colors on those Half-beaks!

We didn't have an official photographer this year and the permissions I have only cover the Livebearers Journal.  Maybe some of the photographers will post pictures here.  There's lots in the journal for members.
