Rainer,

Your fish are very nice, thanks for sharing.
I developed a strain of Albino Variatus during the early 1990's at the time I was big into Fancy Xiphophorus breeding, but no one else seemed to care. I practically gave some of these away at the Cincinatti auction and didn't do too much better at the ALA auction.

Hallo,

hier die Überschrift eines Artikels über den Königslyra. Dankenswerter Weise war Christina Ghiasvand so freundlich meinen Artikel zu übersetzen:

here the title of an article on the King lyretail. Thankfully Ghiasvand Christina was kind enough to translate my article:

Quote:
The King lyretail, a lyretail swordtail - something else A lyretail swordtail with normal gonopodium - The King lyretail The translation of my article - Translation from German by Christina Ghiasvand, 2010

Ich erreiche diese Ergebnisse im Ringen um Erkenntniss, nicht, weil ich schon alles weiss ^^

I achieved these results in the struggle for knowledge, not because I already know everything ^^

Danke für Eure Bemerkungen. Ich freue mich auf den Austausch.

Thanks for your comments. I look forward to the exchange.

Best regards,

Rainer Schultz

That is the form of Fancy Swordtail which the Hawaiians and some others have called "Hifin/ Lyretail with normal gonopodium".

Dr. Joanne Norton stated that in some strains of Hifin Swordtail, the top of the male's caudal fin sometimes has a short extension.

Does anyone else have any comments on this?

Hello,

I have now read your post.

My Hifin-Kingslyratail emerged from a Kingslyratail male and a female Hifin.
The evidence Kingslyratail fertilize females with normal fins. I am one of four breeders in Germany who did it.

A request:
Can someone scan this and send it by e Artickel "In Livebearer # 204 I made reference to the" so-called "

Kind regards, Rainer

In Livebearer #204 I made reference to the "so-called" male Lyretail Swordtails with normal gonopodiums."?

Herzliche Grüße, Rainer

I have referred to Swordtail males like that as "so-called" Lyretails and I probably shouldn't have. I have never done any breeding with them and don't actually know if they possess the traditional Lyretail trait or not so I was wrong to call them that.
