I've very confused about this fishes Genetics. I've been searching and taken a lot of time online websites and I'm having difficulty identifying this fish. At first when I was told this fish was a Skiffia Multipunctata I thought these black spots identified that these are males. Eventually when it started getting big I just folded and decided it had to be a female despite what I was told what type of fish these were.
So far all I can confidently say is I'm pretty sure that the male is a Skiffia based on how the top fin looks similar to the following link picture of Skiffia Lermea
However, beginning of the fin is not spiky at all just lower then the rest of the rays and the coloring is quite different then anything I've searched online. There is a tint of see through blue on the top fin and only recently is it starting to get some light yellowing on the tail fin. Now that the male is gainning more color I can't figure out what Skiffia it is.
I'm showing you a picture of while she is pregnant. I wish I could get some better pictures. I'm also confident that this is a females on the goodieds family.
I really don't know how to work the camera all that well, but I guess once I barrow it from whatever family member has it now I'll get some pictures of the male. Hopefully it will come out better then this one (which is my best one out of a ton of pictures I got) btw, Ignore the little algae it is gone currently.
