Welcome to the American Livebearer Association Forum! Glad you could join us!
Forum Posting Guidelines
The goal of the American Livebearer Association is to gather, organize and disseminate the knowledge of livebearers, to promote fellowship among members, and to further the conservation of species and their natural habitat. All persons interested in the aquarium hobby are welcome, from the novice to the advanced fishkeeper. Participation in the public area of our forum is open to everyone interested in fishkeeping while more specialized areas are available only to ALA members.
Conduct: This forum is open to people of all ages, so keep that in mind when posting and when choosing avatars, pictures, etc.
The tone of your posts should be civil, polite and helpful.
Please stay on topic in the threads you respond to.
Verbal harassment/flaming is not permitted. It's alright to disagree, but please do so respectfully. Here we have only our words and some emoticons to communicate with, so it's easy for miscommunication to happen. Try to give the benefit of the doubt if something offends you (e.g. ask for clarification). If you have issues with another member, please try and resolve the issue via private messages. If the problem can not be resolved, please bring it to the attention of a moderator or administrator.
If you have issues with another discussion forum, please take it up with that board's administration.
As much as we value individual opinions on stores and online suppliers, we also value our relationship with the stores and suppliers as well. If you want to share a less than positive opinion regarding a store, please reserve that for private messages or come to a meeting. Posts containing negative information will be removed.
Legal Liability: This forum is a labor of love and our moderators and members will try their best to help you. People who offer advice can not be held legally responsible for outcomes.
Intellectual Property: Please do not post copyrighted content or images unless you are the owner of the copyright or have written permission to do so. You may however link to other resources or take a small quote from resources if proper credit is given. It's always good to cite your sources of information.
All intellectual property and pictures are copyrighted by the original author or by ALA. Please ask a board administrator for permission first before using entire posts elsewhere, and use good quoting practices (see above) when posting information from this forum in other places. Many of the photographs in the galleries can be used for non-profit purposes, if you ask permission.
