In the wild mollies consume live mosquito larvae and other insects, they also consume a surprising amount of plant materials, such as leaf matter, root tips, algae and other bits of plants.
Be careful feeding commercially raised vegetables that have been treated with chemicals, unless you can be certain they have been raised organically, without chemicals.
You could also find plants in your back yard ,dandelion greens or chickweed. Before feeding these leaves, soften them by scalding.Remove anything not eaten within half a day.
I like to slice zucchini squash that I raise in my back yard(frozen then thawed to break down the cell walls and make it digestible)dropped into the tank will make a good meal.

My mollies also really like freeze dried spray dried krill. I also give them as much of a variety aspossable. Brewers yeast, which you find in fish foods and a few other items I can get from health food stores and my garden.

I have never tried brewers yeast on mine but it may be worth trying. When I raised daphnia, I fed a blend of brewers yeast and spirulina since I could not seem to grow green water. I may try some of that food blend on them as it is a good size for the fry and I know they would appreciate the spirulina.

I learned about brewers yeast and wheat germ from reading the containers of fish food. Also learned about it from some nutrition research I did and knew. When I was 16 I worked with the largest parakeet ranch in the southwest. The owner fed the birds anumber of things I remember, one of them being wheat germ.
I also read about a brewers yeast product on the market. The plant where it was processed had taken note that there had never been an employee have a sick day off in ten years and began to do research. Long story short it helped the immune system in humans so I applied these as a couple pieces of information to the fish. My mollies certainly didnt complain. Because it is bigger I feed the wheat germ the first feeding of the day. Just some general fish nutrition I have added. This will be part of an article I will be writing on nutrition in the future. It helped being certifine for humas as a nutritionist and knowing the animal kingdom has some similarities
