Again, I didn't say that to offend people or to make enemies. I just hate receiving the bulletin and seeing only a few articles usually on similiar subjects and authored by a hand-full of members when there is so much information being given out right here on this forum! I, too seldom submit anything anymore, but I had a run where almost every issue (1980's-1990's) had something from me and I'm not really that good of a writer.
Someone could write an article about one of the topics on here which are gitting so many responses. Remember, a lot of ALA members don't use the website.

I have a lot of articles I can publish in the bulletin. Do you know anyone I can contact so I put them in?

I've offered in the past to let any of my livebearer articles be used in the magazine. I'm not the best writer in the world, but the offer still stands.

Email or mail your articles to Bill Allen, his addresses should be somewhere on this site if not it's always in the front of the bulletin. Thabks!

Do you think we could ask for an article in return? I'm in my first year of ALA membership, and was unable to attend the convention. So I really don't know my way around. If someone from the BOD could post some basic info on how the committees communicate, what the defined priorities are and what's usually involved in taking a position, I'd be open to learning and seeing what I could offer.

For articles, as a newbie to the ALA, I haven't seen that many bulletins. I really like what I've seen, but I wonder what has already been recently published. The fish I have are incredibly fun and interesting to me, but may be old news to the average member. If people want to post where they see info gaps, and what they'd like to see articles about, people in the same boat as me could maybe contribute more.

Dear FishFolk,

I'm sure Bill will be happy with any submissions that are sent in. I believe he has been having some computer trouble lately. Sometimes it takes a while for your submission to be published. It gets a technical review that can take some time.

Best wishes,

Earl

Ok Darrell you have guilted me into submitting some article As for donating to other aspects of the ALA I am always willing and ready. Since I am still new to the ALA, and do not know what areas need volunters, all anyone would have to do is ask and I will help.

Does anyone have a subject index to the last two or three years of articles, just to give a new member an overview? I'd be happy to write, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

An ongoing index would be an interesting addition to the web-site, given how attractive Livebearers is for people considering joining.

When I look at Livebearers and consider what I've missed by taking so long to join, it is frustrating. Yeah, I deserve to suffer to for not joining sooner, but that's life.

I received an index from Mike Schadle who is in charge of back issues. However, the articles have only been indexed up to issue #150 though. I got his email address from the "ALA Officers" button in the upper left hand corner of the website.
