My fiance's cousin is into fish and has a 30 gal. She has Angel's and Platies and she seemed very interested in my Ameca Splendens. I have a bunch of fry and was wanting to give some to her. Would they get a long with the others or would they beat them up too bad? I know Amecas and a lot of other goodeids are fin nippers and so I wanted to ask before I did anything. Thank you very much!

Thanks again! Take care!
Chris

Wish I could tell you, but I keep my Amecas in a species only tank.

Thank you very much for the reply. Yeah I keep my Ameca's and all of my fish in species only tanks as well. My only concern is the Ameca splendens beating up the Angelfish. I really doubt the Angels would hurt the Amecas. Thanks again!

I would not do it myself for a couple reasons.. the water temps for the Angels should be around 80 that is on the very highside for Ameca also you did not say how many fish are already in the 30 but I would bet way too many so there would be way too much competition for space and food

Thank you very much for the reply. That is a very good point about the temperature and space I didn't think about that. I really don't know how many fish she has. Actually I have never seen the tank. Well thank you very much for the replies!

I agree with the temperature differnce. However I don't know why Amecas have such a bad rep. I have guppies, swordtails, a betta, mollies and Alfara Cultratus in with mine and they are just fine. The guppies were born in the tank and have been in there for almost a year now, although they are about 1/8 the size of my largest Ameca their fins are intact.

Thank you very much for the reply! Wow that's great that your fish get a long with the Ameca splendens. They don't seem very bad with their nipping or aggression and I would like very much to give her some but yet I don't want to risk it if fish are going to get hurt or worse. I care a lot about fish and want the very best for all of my fish. Is it something you think we could try or shouldn't chance it? Thanks again!
