I have just returned from the BLA Convention.
It was a really good weekend and there were loads of bags of fish for sale although the number of buyers were really disappointing.
We had bags of fish which I have never even seen before such as Micropoecilia parae which didn't make their reserve and bags of Micropoecilia picta going for £3.
I picked up quite a few fish including some Gambusia which I had not seen before (krumholzi, oligosticta, speciosa, sexradiata, punctata and puncticulata); some Brachys (olomina, rhabdophora and holdridgei); plenty of Limias (tiger, zonata, melanogaster (with collection data), grossidens, tridens) a few Xiphophorus (kallmanni, nigrensis, nezahualcoyotl); Girardinus (microdactylus, denticulatus, falcatus and uninotatus) and a few Goodeids (francesae V188, C. lateralis and Allotoca zacapuense).
Most of these fish were wild or F1 and went for between £3 and £6 a bag. It is a good job I had an empty fish house. These fish are in quarantine at the moment, but I need to get breeding so that I can bring plenty for you guys at the ALA 2010.
