Ric,

I was just checking to see if those fish that I sent to you two weeks ago got there in decent condition. Shipping fish through the mail is something new for me. I've received but never shipped. I was just curious whether they made the the trip okay.

Got mine last week. Timely, having that article on a fish room. If the purchase of this new house goes through, I'll be looking at the prospects of building one myself.

10. Not a problem so far
11. Yes

I am sorry that I haven't been getting back to you. We bought a new home this week and we're getting ready for closing and selling our old home. Send me the address of your school and I'll ship the fish out on Monday.

Sciencegeek,
I'm curious. Are you still interested in either of the species that I have or are going with the Ameca.

I mostly use HOB filters and haven't noticed any losses. The Xiphophorus couchianus fry are tiny, maybe 3/16 in. and they seem able to stay away from the tubes. Having said that, I think the idea of a sponge over the intake is probably a great idea.

Hey! I never got a certificate.

Seriously, I'd be willing to donate some :Xenotoca" eiseni or Xiphophorus couchianus. They both breed quite readily.

I like the idea of placing shells in the HOB filter, since the tanks are already up and running.

Thanks

That confirms what I was thinking. How do you use these products, just add them to the gravel. If so, at what rate. I have noticed that the PH will drop in just a week or so. Even though I didn't test for hardness in PA, the PH held above 7.0 rather consistently whether the water was fresh or in the tank for a month. By the way the fry did very well the whole time I had them in PA.
