If you are looking for a live bearer to breed just to use their fry as a food source for your predators why not just get some guppies. They are colorful, easy to breed and multiply fast, common to find, and they are small. Just my opinion.
Thank you very much fish48! All of my fish are kept in either a tank of 24"12"12 or more. All of my fish are also in their own specie tanks. I will for sure do water changes weekly. I have noticed that the fish seem to perk right up when a water change is done. My temperatures right now are around 68-72 but I will for sure unplug the heater and let them get lower in temperature. I also have a great variety of foods for them as well. I have bloodworms, brine shrimp, spirlinua brine shrimp, emerald variety, tropical fish flakes, and veggie flakes. I have been feeding them different foods each day. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much Gordon! I will just unplug my heaters and let them get to room temperature. I thought of that I just didn't know if anyone did anything special. In my house I am more worried about winter then summer because I know my wife will want to keep the house very warm. She gets cold very easily. I will see if we can negotiate and make a peace pact lol and keep the house at a certain temperature. Like low 70's or so. Thanks again!
Thank you guys very much! Ok great I will just unplug the heater during the winter and let the tanks keep a room temperature. I am sure with my wife she will want the house fairly warm lol. But I will see if we can keep in the low 70's or so. Thank you guys again! My X.captivus are during very good so far. I have done a 50% water change and they seemed to love it very much! Thanks again!
Hi everyone, All of my goodeid tanks are upstairs in our living room and I am sure in the winter we will have our heat on. I was wondering what you guys would suggest to keep the tanks cool during the winter? What do you guys do for your tanks during the seasons? Thank you very much! Take care! Chris
