Welll sounds like you are lucky. One of the best swordtail breeders say he only uses on in a hundred males for producing what he wants. Maybe for the show you want that swordtail developed but for breeding slow developing has its merrits. Good luck keep up the good work. I personally work on developing new color types and fin patterns so I am with you and may the force be with you.

That was great article. I felt so much the same way. Before I left for California I spent a couple hours writing an article. As usual we should give credit to the hard working people in every aspect of the show. They did a great job. I planned to be there early to be that little ray of sunchine when people arrive that is needed so I was glad to see you again. Like you I was especially suprised. I believe this was the largest convention with 175 enries. I remember passing by some one and hear him say the ala has never had more than 150 entries. I now have 152. I NEED MORE AQUARIUMS NOW' That set me to believe this would be an exceptional convention and it was. The teams of everything did their part. There was a shortage of volunteers but everyone stayed excited and got some great deals and raised a lot of money for the club I believe. Better days are ahead.
There regular volunteers developing. A new generation are getting ready to carry the ball or responsability. Dont be suprised if you dont see more people writing more articles for the publication and new colors and fin types suddenly show up. Right now all I need is some sailfin swordtails and some Birchmani. I know I will have more new varieties I can hardly wait. Thanks Joe for the comrodarie

Platies and swordtails have been crossed so much it is sometimes hard to tell the difference. Ujnless you get your fish from a wild stock there is no guarantee of the genetics and background. Great tjob though.

What do you think would happen if I did cross them with Montezuma., I have other reasons foor getting the montezuma. This would just be another reason to get them for my project.

Right now I have 6 what are said to be painted swordtILS. The males have extra ordinary markingwith a perfect lin seperating the black and red. I would like to extend it to get closer to the dorsal fin. The females have much more black to past the dorsal fin but definitrly jet black.
I also have a couple smoky panda marked white and actually grey and white. Hopefully the first ofspring will darken so I ama still working on the panda swordtails.
This is really my first year working with swordtails so it should be interesting to see what I come up with. I also have orio swordtails and micky mouse swordtails both in peppermint. I still dont know if I will bring them to the show. I a;lso just rrecently developed a blue and gold sphenops molly one male and a few others that are sstill growing. I just dont know if I want to bring them to the convention yet with all the Boston things going on. I certainly dont want to lose my only fish because of TSA people who do not know what is going on as far as regulations like I did in Indianappolis.
