Hi Ben,
Omar is probably the leading authority on goodeid classification right now. He is the head of the Fish Ark Project that Ivan Dibble started a few years back. He is at the University in Morelia.
Instead of using Google, use Google Scholar. I think you will find that Omar is extremely prolific at publishing his work.
Give him a couple of years on the "Xenotoca variata" from the Cuitzeo basin. He has a lot of irons in the fire.
