In the wild mollies consume live mosquito larvae and other insects, they also consume a surprising amount of plant materials, such as leaf matter, root tips, algae and other bits of plants.
Be careful feeding commercially raised vegetables that have been treated with chemicals, unless you can be certain they have been raised organically, without chemicals.
You could also find plants in your back yard ,dandelion greens or chickweed. Before feeding these leaves, soften them by scalding.Remove anything not eaten within half a day.
I like to slice zucchini squash that I raise in my back yard(frozen then thawed to break down the cell walls and make it digestible)dropped into the tank will make a good meal.
