Alex,

How old is this male? He looks like the average young Lyretail male who's gonopodium hasn't finished growing. It is longer than a normal gonopodium.
As for the male being sexually active. Most Lyretail males have a normal sex drive, they just can't make full contact to inseminate the females. That's what is meant by "Lyretail males can't breed". They do try and try hard.
